Recon X-Series are giving users the option of integrated Bluetooth and g wireless. Two models make up the revitalised X-Series, the 200X and 400X. The former features a 200MHz Intel XScale processor and boosted 128MB of flash memory. The latter has a nippy 400MHz processor and also sees its flash memory increased to 256MB. A built in microphone, redesigned keypad and more responsive and vibrant 240 x 320 colour touch screen make up the other enhancements.

Branded as PDA phones “not for the faint heart”, they meet the MIL-STD-810F military standard for drops, vibration and temperature extremes. They also have an IP67 rating, meaning they’re impervious to water and dust. The X-Series retains the Recon’s two CompactFlash slots, allowing users to add GPS, GPRS, digital cameras, bar-code scanners and other devices while the massive 3,800 mAh battery still churns out a minimum of 15 hours continuous use from a single charge.

The new 490g, 165 x 95 x 45mm Recon models are out now although pricing is only available through direct contact with TDS’ European launch partner Handheld Europe. The previous generation went for around £1,200 including VAT.

VoIP

VoIP stands for Voice over IP and is a term generally used for various communications over the Internet or any other network that transfers packets of data. More information can be found out about it from the VoIP Wikipedia page.

With the introduction of this service have risen multiple options to communicate from b2b (business to business) and also for businesses to interact with their customers in a different manner. Imagine some of the benefits available of constantly been able to be in contact with the office while you are either out of the office on business or whether an important transaction is stopping you taking your family out for the evening. Other services such as VoiceMail to Email allows you to receive voice mail messages as email so you can keep in touch with what is happening without having to be at your desk or constantly checking your phone.

There are many different variations and uses of the VoIp service such as asterisk phone systems Toronto. The asterisk phone system uses open source PBX phone systems to deliver:

  • Next generation feature functionality.
  • Cost cutting capabilities
  • Unlimited scalability

With these just some of the many possibilities available and especially with many businesses looking to cut costs in the current finance climate it looks like it could be time for all businesses to jump in. One issue maybe the technicality of all this. Do you really understand how you can benefit, or what you might need to achieve your goals. Not to worry, help is at hand with many services like VOIP consulting readily available. A team of professionals will be able to help you get set up, analyze your needs and optimize your network for your needs.
